Profile
Short Book Description
My Journey to Peace with PTSD
In 2003 Lady Cerelli had a flashback of a violent rape, a memory she had subconsciously suppressed for forty years. She details how the underlying trauma created a victim who became a candidate for PTSD. Lady explains how anger, road rage; failed and successful suicides; drug and alcohol/drug abuse; could be symptoms of PTSD.

Have you been a victim of abuse, suicide attempts, alcohol or drug addiction?
Have you miscarried babies, been a workaholic, or experienced
frequent insomnia, nightmares, or depression?
Are you always angry, finding yourself speeding, or engaging in road rage?
These are just a few of the symptoms of a PTSD victim—someone who has been traumatized in the past or due to war.
Having been a spiritual counselor for over forty years, Lady
Cerelli never dreamed she would walk the same path she had often led her clients on. In this book she shares how keeping trauma to yourself leads to behavior disorders such as those mentioned above (and more). She learned how to be at peace with who she was and change those behaviors in order to grow into the individual she wished to be.
My Journey to Peace with PTSD can become the lifeline you need to journey back to your first trauma and connect to who you are. In this way you can heal your own life.
Diagnosed PTSD, I wrote the book I wanted in my hand when I was admitted into the VA hospital. I needed answers to questions regarding a disorder about which mental health professionals had very little information. Fours years later, I am at peace, not only with the military rape, but also with my being a victim of childhood incest. As a counselor for over 40 years, I share in my book what worked for me as I walk the path I led my clients on and describe what goes on inside those who have been abused. I also describe what traits abusers look for that will let them know who they can abuse. I describe PTSD flashbacks, giving the reader an inside look at the world we are forced to live in, until we learn how to put away the nightmares. Sharing the pain is the only way we can allow it to unleash its hold on us. Our society, having denigrated incest and sexual assault, have made people afraid that they, too, will be disgraced if they share their traumas. I describe how, when shared through journaling and with the grace of compassion, the trauma can be turned into a life experience, and not something we nurture for the rest of our lives. I show you how you can come to terms with your traumas.
Testimonials
Lady’s depiction of her journey from childhood trauma to adult well-being illustrates the reality of what it is like to live with PTSD and what it takes to recover. This is a movingly written book which educates the reader as to why children who have been harmed continue to be vulnerable in adulthood. Lady very frankly shares how the body-mind mechanisms for survival and self-protection can result in painful and maladaptive behaviors long after a traumatic event.
Lady writes with extreme tenderness toward the child she was, who still exists within her. This book will validate and inspire other survivors of PTSD on their own journeys toward peace, and be a resource for those who love them.

The compelling account of Ms. Cerelli’s abuse, beginning as a young child, is raw and uncensored. When you read of her abuse as a child, you’ll see she has the ability to put the reader back in time to experience the feelings of a confused and betrayed little girl. Her loss of innocence is painful and palpable.
As she journeys you through her life, you experience the roller coaster of mental illness that plagues her because of her severe trauma and her suppression of pain, rage and memories. She brings the reader to an understanding of how her repressed rage bubbles to the surface, and manifests in her many self-destructive behaviors.
