Sweetbriar

Tails of Sweetbrier is an inspiring autobiography of a little girl who wants nothing more passionately than to become a champion horseback rider, in spite of her handicap. This award winning story will show you that nothing is impossible if you persevere. Here are excepts from Tails of Sweetbrier:"Have you ever really wanted to do something, but you came across a roadblock of some kind? Maybe you're afraid of new things or maybe you have a physical challenge. You have to make a difficult choice. I made that choice once and it changed my whole life."

Excerpts from review by Eileen Dunn Bertanzetti:Written by Deanie Humprys-Dunne and illustrated by Holly Humphrys-Bajaj, Tails of Sweetbrier will leave you knowing that you, too, "have the power to make
your dreams come true."

From Review by Geraldine Ahearn:

The author points out the value of family and friendship, while motivating others to reach for their dream, despite obstacles that may have to be battled with along the way. Furthermore, Deanie Humphrys-Dunne encourages discipline, high self-esteem, and a positive attitude throughout this compelling story. The author motivates children to overcome their fears, achieve their goals, and follow their dreams. "TAILS OF SWEETBRIER" tugs at the heart, is as captivating as RADIO, and as inspiring as FORREST GUMP, with Tom

CharlietheHorse

Charlie the Horse is a fictional tale about a young horse who wants to win the Kentucky Derby. What happens when Charlie starts his training? Does he focus on his work? Your child will love Charlie's amusing adventures and learn important life lessons as well. Charlie the Horse was a book of the week selection. Excerpts:"I want to be the best race horse around when I grow up, mama."

"You can be, Charlie, as long as you are willing to work hard, try your best and not give up when you have a bad day." From Review by Geraldine Ahearn:The main character Charlie is adorable, talented, and amusing. The author encourages children to work hard at reaching their goals, overcome their fears, and believe in themselves.

Charlene Ad80Charlene the Star doesn't like racing. What does she do instead? She finally finds her place to shine. You'll love her adventures and learn important life lessons.

Excerpts from review by Sherry Ellis:

The inherent message of the book is to find your talent and then work hard to develop it. This is a nice message that young kids need to hear. Charlene the Star is a enjoyable read, and one that I would recommend.

Excerpts from review by Geraldine Ahearn: This easy to read children's book is delightful and educational as it teaches young children to reach for the stars, and follow their dreams.

The author teaches the young reader how to follow the footsteps of a good role model, and the importance of doing your best, regardless of which career path you choose. More important, with time and patience, our talents will blossom in our special place in the world. Did Elliot's friendship and Mary's praise make Charlene feel proud? How did Charlene do at the Sterling Club? Was number thirteen a lucky number for Charlene? How did Charlene's goals and dreams differ from the dreams Charlie had at her age? Does Charlene become a champion? "CHARLENE THE STAR" is funny, heartwarming and as entertaining as THE Horsewhisperer."

Excerpts from Review by Author Sherry Ellis:
Charlene the Star and Hatties Heroes is a book that would appeal to young horse lovers and animal lovers. The added bonus is that it is a book that teaches good character. It's about helping others, working hard, setting goals, doing your best, and being a gracious winner or loser.
