I love how each new day can bring with it a surprise and a delight. Mine today was learning that author Deanie Humphrys-Dunn, had nominated myself and the PolkaDotBanner for a Best Moment Award. The best part is that I get to thank a lot of people who help me and who do a lot to support the PDB. Read on to see who I nominated...

I’m excited to be able to tell you about the Awesome Writer’s Muse Giveaway, because every writer needs an awesome muse. Throughout the month of December, daily giveaways will be sent to help writers get the tools they need to rock their writing careers in 2013. (Don't worry that you might have missed some, you can still get them all!) (One of the gifts is from me. If you want to know what it is, you'll have to go check it out (hehehe).)
It’s free to join, so all you need to do is visit www.awesomewritersmuse.com and sign up! Every writer deserves an awesome muse. I've been picking these up myself as they come up, and I have received some awesome tips and hints, and that's saying something because I've been in and around the biz for nearly 20 years now. So get moving, click the link and grab your free gifts. |

She was part of a special project to develop a study guide for The Taming of Corky, and then used it with sixth graders as they read the novel. Jane met with the students twice, first as they began reading the novel, and then when they had finished reading it. She answered their questions, and they discussed the characters and their story, culminating in a celebration and pizza party.
